We are extremely excited to present Michael Crichton’s recent speech to the National Press Club. In this piece, Crichton delivers a devastating critique of environmentalism’s practice of presenting speculative data as documented fact, and uses climate change to illustrate the extreme difficulty of predicting the future with even vague accuracy.
For example, thirty years ago many leading environmentalists were warning of the impending ice age—no joke. Astute individuals are likely to notice that we seem to have avoided that fate, and that, actually, the same people who were predicting glaciers are now predicting global warming. As Crichton points out, some would consider that a rather clever trick....
