When we taste the infinite Absolute of consciousness, the world is seen just as it is—radiant, perfect, and whole. The relative, however, does not cease to be. Quite the contrary, the pains and pleasures of our relative lives are intensified to an unimaginable degree.

During the Integral Practice Seminar in 2004, Ken takes a question from one seminar participant about subtle energies. She asks how one can integrate the high subtle energy experiences during a retreat or seminar into the gross, everyday life? Ken addresses this question first by talking about a Taoist practice called the “microcosmic orbit,” which involves breathing energy down the front of the body and breathing it out up the back. Also discussed are the emerging Kata practices being developed by Ken and the Integral Practice Team, which integrate gross, subtle, and causal energies in the human body-mind.

AQAL is simpler than you think. First, it's a map of a territory. Second, this territory, which we also call "reality," is also a territory of human potentials. Therefore, when we understand this territory with an AQAL (all quadrants, all levels, all lines, all states, all types) map, then our available choices multiply, our decisions are more informed, and our highest potentials are that much more inviting....

René Descartes' famous phrase, "Cogito, ergo sum"—"I think, therefore I am"—is thought by postmodern theory to be the essence of the modern West's anti-body, anti-earth, phallologocentric imperialistic bent. In this clip, Ken explains how the postmodern critique of Cartesian dualism only gets the story half-right, ignoring the profound contribution of a philosopher who actually linked consciousness and being in a manner as profound as the greatest causal sages, East or West.

If a piano falls on your empty head, your next stop is the Bardo. But according to Ken, if a big blue pancake falls on your head, you've merely realized nonduality! In this video clip, Ken explains emptiness and form, consciousness and the world, and your own syrup-splattered Original Face.  Yummy!
